TAMSEN & TOM

It will come as no surprise that I blooming love a good wedding and but this one really was a special day! I was lucky enough to be invited to this magical, loved-up, Tomsen (bride called Tamsen, groom called Tom so move over Bennifer, this is all about Tomsen!) celebration at Derbyshire tipi venue The Hidden Hive.

THE CEREMONY

In the wooden Honey Bee Barn, and in front of the most amazing floral backdrops, Tamsen and Tom had the congregation (and no more than me!) in tears as they said their vows in front of their five (yes, you read that right; five!) children in a heartfelt but fun ceremony. On the declaration of being man and wife, Tom couldn’t help himself but let out a fist pump of joy and the pair walked down the aisle being showered by a confetti of rainbow pom-poms to be met by the King Brasstards. The brass band and newly weds led their nearest and dearest to a gin-and-fizz reception and, let me tell you, it was just as special as it sounds.

THE DETAILS

This DIY bride, spent the weeks running up to the wedding searching the local charity shops for perfect bric-a-brac props and crafting home-made, heartfelt elements to add endless soul to this wedding day. With a pampas and dried flower theme, tables were adorned with an array of mismatched glasswear, twisted candles and neutral sprays. Displays included polaroid garlands from through the couple’s love story, a cigar bar, crisp wall for hungry kids and flip-flop centre for tired dancing feet.

The cake was a tall two tier buttercream affair decorated with the signature dried blooms that run throughout the day. Similarly, the bride’s showstopper bouquet was a perfect mix of rust coloured, fluffy pampas, creamy bunny tails and a mixture of dried elements, all tried together with ribbon and raffia; how gorgeous!

THE FITS

The bride wore a floral embroidery over chantilly lace gown with sheer petal train from Midlands bridal boutique MiAmor Bridal. Starting the day in iconic Vivienne Westwood peep-toe shoes, Tamsen swapped into orange converse later in the day and accessorised with a statement hand-painted “Mrs Bevan” jacket to complete her bridal look.

This day was full to the brim of “feels” from this truly loved-up couple and was perfectly captured by Derbyshire wedding photographer Mirl & Co. Thanks so much for sharing with me and huge congratulations to the happiest couple of them all.
